Breath of Life Christian Academy was founded in 1998 to prepare boys and girls, grades K-5 through 8, for spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and professional excellence. We are recognized for outstanding Christian education and are fully accredited by the Tennessee Association of Non-Public Academic Schools.

Supervised extended care is available for the convenience of working parents.

We provide a solid educational foundation by nurturing the God-given gifts and talents of each individual child. Our curriculum teaches fundamental core skills and promotes artistic, scientific and technological sophistication. We foster independence, creativity, and critical thinking as well as instruct in the Word and ways to a life of Holiness through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Academy's clubs and organizations are an extension of the vision God gave Pastor Holloway to prepare leaders. As an extension of the vision, BOLCA clubs and organizations will be an expression of the Academy's written vision to prepare and equip students to live in intellectual and professional excellence.

All clubs or organizations have a set of standards governing required student academic achievement, behavior, participation, and other qualifications. Every club will expose the students to a variety of activities that will expand their frame of reference through the goals and objectives outlined in the club or organization's mission. We have included below, several statements from the Academy's means and philosophy as a foundation for all of our clubs and organizations:

  • Nurturing the gifts, talents, and anointing of students.
  • Preparing students leaders for economic leadership and stewardship for participation in a global society.
  • Foster independent, creative and critical thinking.
  • Promote artistic, scientific and technological sophistication.
  • Provide essential experiences and exposure.

The Breath of Life Christian Center's Food Service provides hot and nutritious lunches daily for the Academy's students. Mrs. Virginia Jones is the Food Service Manager.

Food Service Process
The Academy provides a payment center lunch box for parents or students to deposit their lunch payments on the desk of the BOLCA Administrative Assistant. The food service cashier checks the payment box for lunch payments Tuesday Ð Friday. The cashier writes receipts for each payment received. The receipts are returned to the office to be sent home weekly.

Payments are received weekly (Friday), bi-weekly or monthly. Lunch payments are entered into the Microsoft excel program where lunch balances and credits can be accessed easily and will accurately depict a student's account.

Every student has a lunch card that denotes the number of days paid, not paid and days' lunch was purchased. If a student has not paid, the cashier will send a lunch balance note home to the parents. If a parent does not pay the student's lunch account, their right to charge lunch will be suspended. All student credits at the end of the month will be carried over to the next month.

The cafeteria will recognize student birthdays once a month with a birthday treat for all paid lunches.

A monthly lunch menu is given out at the beginning of each month. The menu may change without prior notice.

BOLCA Lunch Costs
The cost of lunch is $2.50 daily.

Students may purchase extra servings after all students have been served during their lunch period. Additional servings must be paid for up front and not charged.

Students may request a chef salad daily for $1.50 during the morning lunch count in the classroom. If a student decides not to purchase the salad, they will still be charged by the cashier.

Students have the opportunity to purchase snacks, soda and water between $.15 and $.50. Parents may include additional monies in the lunch envelope and label the additional monies for snacks, etc. A credit will be issued for the student until all funds have been depleted.

BOLCA Lunchroom Process

  • Students have a thirty minute period.
  • Each class says grace before entering the cafeteria.
  • Students are supervised by education assistants during lunch.
  • Lunchroom rules are provided to ensure that all students will have to eat and socialize.

Purpose
The Breath of Life Christian Academy's extended care program (ECP) is a fee service offered to parents whose children must arrive at the Academy before 7:45 a.m. and remain after 3:15 p.m. The extended care program is staffed with BOLCA employees who are cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certified. The BOLCA extended care program services before and after school care. Faculty members monitor the before school program and ECP coordinators monitor the after school care program. If a student is not enrolled in ECP, his or her name will be placed on roll for the day and the parent(s) will be charged the daily rate.

Vision
BOLCA's after school ECP has structured guidelines and activities to provide a smooth transition from school activities to after school activities. The ECP after school care is designed for students to have an outlet to relax from the regular school day by participating in individual and group activities, free play time or study time.
